Tracy's Hashimoto's Story

In September 2015, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease. Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks and destroys the thyroid. The thyroid gland stores and produces hormones and gives function to almost every organ in your body. It regulates our metabolic rate and is associated with body weight and energy levels. I was familiar with the disease considering my grandmother had it and my mother and sister also live with it. I started the same path as both my mother and sister; traditional modern medicine. I found a reputable Endocrinologist and started Synthroid®. This is a man-made (synthetic) medication that is meant to replace the hormone produced by the thyroid gland. This was also a medication I would need to take every day for the rest of my life. It was expected to control all the side effects of the disease I was experiencing. The major side effects I experienced included fatigue (to the point I felt like a walking zombie all day), depression, hair loss (this was the hardest for me) skin dryness, and sensitivity to cold. I could keep going but these are the major symptoms I experienced on a daily basis. Weight gain is also a side effect. Luckily, I don’t think I gained much weight but losing weight is much more difficult.

After months of getting blood work tested and increasing my dosage of Synthroid® to attempt to eliminate my side effects and get my thyroid levels within normal range, I started researching more holistic methods. I joined a Hashimoto’s Facebook group and found an incredible holistic doctor. My first appointment was in October 2016. Her first words to me were, “you need to remove ALL dairy and gluten from your diet.” She also prescribes me a pure and all-natural thyroid medication which I started immediately. I began a gluten and dairy free diet as well. Every 6 weeks, I had my blood work retested. My side effects were beginning to diminish with some slight dosage modifications. In March 2017, my thyroid antibodies were still above normal range but they were decreasing. The same month, my best friend hosted an Arbonne “30 Days to Healthy Living” workshop. At this point in my life, feeling good was more important than looking fab in my bikini so I was open to anything to make me feel better. I went to the workshop and ended up signing myself up and my husband for the 30 Days to Healthy Living program. Him and I both LOVED the products.

We followed the program precisely and had such an amazing experience. My husband lost 20 pounds in the first month! I felt more energy immediately! We decided to continue the program for another month. Preceding this period, I had my normal blood work tested for the doctor to review my results. The doctor had informed me my thyroid levels were in normal range and I wouldn’t have to come back to be tested for 6 months! I was in complete remission! All I had to do was change my diet to more pure and natural ingredients! Since then, my husband and I still use the 30-Days to Healthy Living products. We are now going on our 6th month. I also started purchasing other Arbonne products which I’ve also found to love! The products are amazing and if you have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease like myself, I challenge you to try Arbonne’s 30-Days to Healthy Living program to improve your quality of life. Only you can change the way you feel; not a medication. Take charge of your body!
